Lines, shapes, structures, contours, symmetries - on my photographic trips to the big cities of Asia and Europe as well as to present industrial areas, I look for ways to capture these elements in timeless images through my reductive black-and-white photography. The play with light and shadow, with point of focus and depth of field, the highlighting of specially designed details and unusual perspectives help me to modify motifs. I sometimes bring black and white into particularly strong contrasts with each other, which, together with minimalist content, lead to works with a purely graphic character. The dominance of the abstract graphic structure over the content directs the viewer's view more strongly to the core of the motif. The lack of orientation and reference points thus opens up surprisingly new perspectives on familiar motifs.
The aesthetics of abandoned industrial sites, the transience of man-made buildings and objects, the power of nature, the authenticity of forgotten places and buildings - in my photographic explorations I seek the special atmospheric mood of abandoned places. With the camera, I capture the romantic aesthetics and the long gone. Here, too, I use light and shadow, high contrasts, unusual perspectives and interesting details to capture the special and fascinating aura of the lost places.
My third photographic focus is Japan - a fascinating country where traditional lifestyles and ultra-modern cities, creative architecture, innovation and vibrant religion, youthful subculture and thousand-year-old traditions coexist vividly.
Travel photography, especially in East and Southeast Asia, as well as experimental approaches with light, movement and sharpness complete my photographic interests.

Willkommen bei Lichtpoet!
Linien, Formen, Strukturen, Konturen, Symmetrien – Auf meinen fotografischen Streifzügen durch die Großstädte Asiens und Europas sowie in gegenwärtigen Industriearealen suche ich nach Möglichkeiten, diese Elemente durch meine reduktive schwarz-weiß-Fotografie in zeitlosen Bildern festzuhalten. Das Spiel mit Licht und Schatten, mit Schärfepunkt und Schärfentiefe, die Herausstellung besonders gestalteter Details und ungewöhnliche Perspektiven helfen mir, Motive zu verfremden. Schwarz und Weiß bringe ich dabei zum Teil in besonders starke Kontraste zueinander, die, zusammen mit minimalistischen Inhalten, zu Arbeiten mit rein grafischem Charakter führen. Durch die Dominanz der abstrakten grafischen Struktur über den Inhalt wird der Blick des Betrachters stärker auf den Kern des Motivs gelenkt. Das Fehlen von Orientierungs- und Bezugspunkten eröffnet damit überraschend neue Perspektiven auf vertraute Motive.
Die Ästhetik verlassener Industriekultur, die Vergänglichkeit der von Menschen geschaffenen Gebäude und Gegenstände, die Kraft der Natur, die Authentizität vergessener Plätze und Gebäude – in meinen fotografischen Erkundungen suche ich die besondere stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre verlassener Orte. Mit der Kamera halte ich die romantische Ästhetik und längst Vergangenes fest. Auch hier nutze ich Licht und Schatten, hohe Kontraste, ungewöhnliche Perspektiven und interessante Details, um die besondere und faszinierende Ausstrahlung der verloren gegangenen Orte einzufangen.
Mein dritter fotografischer Fokus ist Japan – ein faszinierendes Land, in dem traditionelle Lebensweise und ultramoderne Städte, kreative Architektur, Innovation und lebendige Religion, jugendliche Subkultur und tausendjährige Traditionen lebendig nebeneinander existieren.
Reisefotografie, besonders im Ost- und südostasiatischen Raum, sowie experimentelle Ansätze mit Licht, Bewegung und Schärfe runden mein fotografisches Interesse ab.
Diese nicht-kommerzielle Webseite habe ich erstellt, um meine Fotos mit Familie, Freunden und Interessierten zu teilen. Viel Spaß beim Betrachten der Bilder und Fotoserien in den Galerien “photo projects and series”, “Japan” und “explorations”.
